Product Description
α-Galactoside is a small molecule oligosaccharide composed of 1 sucrose molecule and 1-4 α galactose residues, including cottonseed sugar, sucrose and so on. As an anti-nutritional factor, α-galactoside is widely distributed in various plants, especially in legumes. With good thermostability, the activity of α-galactoside keeps very stable in the general processing procedure. Due to the lack of α-galactosidase in animal body, the ingested α-galactoside can’t be digested and absorbed by them. The undigested α-galactoside enters into the hindgut for microbial fermentation to produce CO2 and NH3, thus causing flatulence, borborygmus, diarrhea, and other symptoms on animals.
The anti-nutritional effects of α-galactoside are mainly described as followed:
a) Increase the permeability and water holding capacity of intestinal contents and reduce the hydrolysis of nutrients by digestive enzymes.
b) Increase chyme volume, stimulate the peristalsis of small intestine, increase intestinal emptying speed, and reduce the digestion and absorption rate of nutrients.
c) Produce a large amount of gas, thus causing intestinal flatulence, reducing feed intake and damaging animal body.
After years of research, Habio developed α-galactosidase based on bioengineering technology and core technology. It can effectively cleave α-galactosidic bonds to decompose α-galactoside into usable sugars, thereby eliminating the anti-nutritional effect of α-galactoside in feed raw materials and improving the utilization rate of feed energy, protein, etc.
