FSSC22000 Standard Hydrolizing α Galactosidase Improving Feed Quality

Alpha-Galactosidase Hydrolizing α-Galactoside'S Bonds, Improving Feed Quality And Reducing Cost

Mechanisms

α-galactoside (such as raffinose and stachyose) is an anti-nutrient factor presenting in lots of plant seeds, especially the bean seeds have much high concentration. Poultry has no endogenous enzymes to digest the α-galactosides while swine can partially ferment it with the aid of intestinal microorganisms, but the CO2 and NH3 will be released, which would cause flatulence, nausea, borborgymus and diarrhea of animal. The α-galactosidase can degrade the α-galactoside into galactosyl oligosaccharides, which can not only eliminate the anti-nutrient effect but also provide energy for the animals.

Content of α-galactoside in common plant feed stuff

Plant seed Raffinose(%) Stachyose(%) Total
Soy bean 1.21 4.22 5.43
Cottonseed 6.91 2.36 9.27
Peanut 0.33 0.99 1.32
Sunflower seed 3.09 0.14 3.23
Wheat 0.70   0.70
Barley 0.71   0.71
Corn 0.26   0.26

α-galactosidase can digest α-galactosides such as raffinose and stachyose. It can also synergize with β-mannanase to hydrolyze galactomannans contained in bean gums.

Habio α-galactosidase is an enzyme used to hydrolyze or break α-1, 6-glycosidic bonds into galactosyl oligosaccharides (α-galactosides), liberating simpler, more usable sugars and eliminating its anti-nutrient effect. Thus, it improves the utilization of the energy and proteins in feedstuff.

Definition of Activity

One unit (U) of α-galactosidase is defined as the quantity of enzyme, which liberates 1μmol P-nitrophenol in one min at 37℃ and pH5.0.

Product Function

Hydrolizing α-galactoside’s bonds, improving feed quality and allowing a better use of its carbohydrates and proteins, thus reducing cost.

Increasing feed intake of livestock, improving their growth performance, reducing the nitrogen output, thus creating less environmental pollution.
