Habio Alpha Galactosidase 50,000 U/G Powder Feed Additives For Soybean Meal Processing And Animal Breeding
Habio Alpha Galactosidase
Product Overview
α-galactosidase is an enzyme used to hydrolyze or break α-1, 6-glycosidic bonds into galactosyl oligosaccharides (α-galactosides), liberating simpler, more usable sugars and eliminating its anti-nutrient effect. The application value of α-galactosidase in the feed industry is significant, primarily manifested in eliminating anti-nutritional factors, enhancing nutrient utilization, improving animal health, reducing feeding costs, and expanding the range of feed raw materials.
Definition of Activity
One α-galactosidase Unit (U/g) is defined as the amount of enzyme required to release 1 μmol of p-nitrophenol from 10 mmol/L p-nitrophenol-α-D-galactopyranosyl per minute at 37℃ and pH 5.0.
Mechanisms
α-galactoside (such as raffinose and stachyose) is an anti-nutrient factor presenting in lots of plant seeds, especially the bean seeds have much high concentration. ①Raffinose and stachyose, containing α-1,6-galactosidic bonds, cannot be hydrolyzed by digestive enzymes (e.g., α-D-galactosidase). Upon entering the intestine, they are fermented by microorganisms, producing gases such as CO₂ and H₂. This leads to flatulence, diarrhea, and reduced feed intake, particularly in monogastric animals (e.g., pigs, poultry) consuming high levels of soybean meal or cottonseed meal. ②Undigested oligosaccharides undergo microbial fermentation in the large intestine, consuming energy that could otherwise be absorbed by the host. This reduces the digestible energy value of feed and impairs the absorption of proteins and fats. For example, elevated stachyose levels in diets for weaned piglets have been linked to decreased growth performance. ③Fermentation generates harmful byproducts (e.g., amines, phenols) that disrupt intestinal barrier function, increasing susceptibility to pathogenic bacteria (e.g., Escherichia coli) and exacerbating digestive disorders.

The α-galactosidase can degrade the α-galactoside into galactosyl oligosaccharides, which can not only eliminate the anti-nutrient effect but also provide energy. It can also synergize with β-mannanase to hydrolyze galactomannans contained in bean gums.
