Product Overview

Keratin is a structural protein of ectodermal cells, including hair, nails, feathers, etc. Keratin is a hard protein that can not be directly absorbed by livestock and poultry. It mainly exists in the hair, feathers and hooves of animals. It is very rich in resources, and it must be processed by high temperature, high pressure or enzyme to become short peptides or free amino acids before it can be used by livestock and poultry.
Habio keratinase is a new type of enzyme developed by Mianyang Habio Bioengineering Co., Ltd with modern genetic engineering, microbe fermentation and advanced post-process technology. It has efficient disulfide bond reductase and peptide hydrolysis enzyme activity, and can effectively catalyze the hydrolysis of proteins especially keratin proteins, can be widely used in feed, leather, food, cosmetics, and other industrial fields. 

​Definition of Activity

One unit (U) of keratinase activity is defined as the amount of enzyme which liberates 1 μg tyrosine per minute from substrate casein at pH 10.5 and 40℃.
