Product Overview

Xylan is one of the main components in the plant cell wall. As an anti-nutritional factor in feed ingredients, xylan can be effectively connected with cellulose, preventing the content from combining with digestive enzymes, and reducing the digestibility of nutrients. In addition, xylan can also absorb water, which increases the viscosity of chyme. It makes animals feel full, thus reducing food intake and affecting production performance. Livestock and poultry lack xylanase in their body, so the addition of Habio xylanase becomes a necessity.

Enzyme Activity Definition

One unit of enzyme activity (U) is defined as the amount of enzyme required to degrade and release 1μmol reducing sugar from 5 mg/mL xylan solution per minute at 37℃ and pH 5.5.
